My computer is still freezing/pausing

Every once in a while...sometimes even every 5 minutes when I move my mouse it will go really slow for maybe 10 seconds or so then it will go back to normal, but it seems that the hole computer does this. When I watch a movie or listen to music on my computer it will interupt the song and pause or skip for a few seconds then go back to normal. Does anyone know why and how it can be solved?I have a HP pavilion desktop computer. Thanks. Here is my Hijack log also if this might help.

October 2nd, 2004, 05:24 AM Hi again xx00singer00xx. I have checked your log and it is fine.
Try disabling any unnecessary startups using msconfig (Start > Run and type msconfig and OK. Click on the Startup Tab, uncheck unnecessary startups and reboot). You will find help here (http://www.sysinfo.org/startupinfo.html) regarding which startups are required and which can be safely disabled.
